About Linda Darling

Linda’s love for music began at the age of eight when she sang nursery rhymes such as “Maua Mazuri Ya Pendeza”. Even as a young girl, her passion for singing was clear and continued to grow throughout her school years.

During primary school, her musical gift was recognized by her late music teacher, Mr. Chegeso, whose mentorship played a significant role in shaping her early development. Under his guidance, she trained in traditional and folk music—learning vocal discipline, performance, and the beauty of African musical heritage.

After completing her university studies, Linda enrolled at Word of Life Christian Fellowship Bible School in Bungoma, Kenya. There, she joined the church choir under the leadership of Pastor Dodzweit, where regular rehearsals and ministry opportunities strengthened her vocals, deepened her understanding of worship, and prepared her for the calling God placed on her life.

Today, Linda lives and works in Dubai, balancing her career as an entrepreneur with her music ministry. In Dubai, she experienced a renewed calling from God to fully dedicate herself to recording and releasing music that glorifies Him. Since then, she has remained committed to faithfully completing that assignment through every song she creates.

“Nimefunikwa” – What inspired you to create this song, and what message do you hope it conveys to your listeners?

Nimefunikwa song is an assurance to all mankind, that God is with us through it all. We are at the palm of his hands and the apple of his eyes.

You describe your music as an assignment from God. How has your spiritual journey influenced the direction of your music over the years?

My spiritual journey has been the fuel to continue in this walk of faith.

You’ve ventured into amapiano with “Nimefunikwa” and previous tracks. What drew you to this genre, and how do you balance contemporary sounds with gospel themes?

In the walk of faith and Music respectively I believe the Lord has given me unlimited grace to sing and perform any Genre.

Can you share the creative process behind “Nimefunikwa”? Were there any memorable moments during its production?

Yes. First day I heard the song I told my audio producer I am keen to sing this song it was best thing I ever heard.

From singing nursery rhymes in primary school to releasing music on global platforms, how has your musical journey evolved over the years?

I accepted to learn a lot both in the country where I was singing praise and worship in different churches & internationally where I have been performing professionally. Also, I spent a lot of time in the studio to build my vocals, pray and just focus.

Your music often blends faith, love, and purpose. What drives you to focus on these themes, and how do you think they resonate with your audience?

Love is such a beautiful thing to God, family and friends everyone has experienced this feeling at one point. We need more love in this world today as people are experiencing many challenges.

You’ve mentioned the importance of collaborations in creating impactful music. Are there any Kenyan or international artists you dream of working with in the future?

Yes. Kenya has a lot of talent with famous artists and unrecognized artists I am keen to work with anyone who is talented, has a heart to serve God and the people.

How do you manage to balance your life as an entrepreneur in Dubai with your music ministry? What challenges have you faced, and how have you overcome them?

I like to say life is all about balance most people work and come back home to look after themselves and their loved ones the same concept applies to me where I dedicate my time and effort in everything I do.

Your earlier tracks like “Sema Na Mimi” and “Upendo Wa Mungu” gained traction on YouTube. How do you feel about the reception your music has received so far?

Most importantly I am thankful to God, in addition my lovely fans who have been supportive to this stage.
